Course Planning Courses Introduction Courses Schedule

(1) Regular courses
The programs operate on the quarterly basis, four quarters within one year and three months (about 11 weeks) for each quarter. Each quarter is offered in March, June, Septemeber, and December.
The classes are conducted three hours per day, 15 hours per week.

(2) Summer Intensive Program
This six-week intensive program is offered in June. Classes are small with 15 students at most.
The classes are conducted 5 hours per day, 25 hours per week.

(3) Culture courses
Students will be assigned to different classes based on their Chinese proficiency levels. The classes are conducted 3 hours per week. Topics include idioms, fables, legends, calligraphy, Chinese culture and history. Additionally, students will experience featured cultural activities that are planned by College of Design, Department of Hospitality Management and Baking Techology, and various student clubs, such as Chinese traditional toys (kicking shuttlecocks, jumping ropes, playing diabolos, etc.), handmade pottery, metalwork, Chinese pastry, and so on.

※ Each class might have suitable class hours according to students’ needs and learning situation. To provide more opportunities for students to learn and practice their conversation skills and to help students adapt to various teaching approaches employed by different teachers, each class will be assigned two teachers who will co-teach these language courses.
